Prerequisites for Innovations in Journalistic Studies

随着新世纪的到来,各学科领域都面临着继承学科传统与学科创新的挑战。新闻学作为党性和实践性极其鲜明的应用学科,其发展与创新的基本前提应该是科学精神和人文精神。新世纪的新闻学研究首先应确立新闻有学的观念,承认新闻学中的规律性,用科学的方法和精神去思考和研究新闻学中的规律;提倡尊重新闻规律,用科学的精神、按新闻规律来推动新闻学研究的发展;与此同时,强调在新闻学研究中强化人文精神,在新闻传播中重视人文关怀。在承认新闻活动是反映人的活动、传递人的价值观念、沟通人的精神世界之文化活动的前提下,进行学科研究创新,推动其发展。

With the coming of the new century, all branches of learning are faced with the problem of how to carry on tradition and how to blaze new trails. Journalism is an applied science characterized by its Party spirit and practicality* so the prerequisites for its development and innovations should be scientism and humanism. Journalistic studies in the new century, therefore, require the recognition of their regularity, the study of the regularity, the promotion of journalistic studies through the adoption of scientism, and the emphasis of humanism in the studies. Innovations are predicated on the recognition of journalism as a kind of cultural activity to mirror human life, to convey human values, and to exchange ideas with each other.
