The establishment,development and modernization of capitalism in early industrial countries featured the reform of foreign trade. The importance of overseas trade was unassailable to the cradle of Industry Revolution--Britain. As modernization and pattern of overseas trade developed to a higher level and they also underwent substantial changes. The defect in British overseas trade limited the stamina of the development of Britain. This can be a good lesson for those later-rising modernized countries.
