During the Cultural Revolution the People' s Liberation Army suffered grievous setbacks. But the broad masses of officers and men of the PLA stood alongside the Chinese Communist Party and people and, under extremely trying conditions, resolutely struggled against the destruction of the Cultural Revolution.The PLA still obeyed the Party and courageously defended the country's security,completing many tasks given by the Party and State. It is important to realistically review the main achievement of the PLA in this complex period, and to thoroughly sum up its experiences and lessons.
