Through the systematic analysis of dialectical relation of water resources,ecological environment and social-economic development and research characteristics of water resources bearing capacity,the author points out the necessity to study supporting theory of water resources bearing capacity,discusses the connotation and impact factors o f water resources bearing capacity,and analyzes the important composition of water resources bearing capacity supporting theory,which includes sustainable development,ecological economy system,and etc.
