Reforming Measures of Higher Education in Western Regions Facing the Challenge of the WTO

在经济全球化和知识经济的大背景下 ,各国的科技教育逐步趋向融合 ,世界高等教育呈现出普及化、信息化、市场化和终身化的发展趋势。我国入世后 ,国外教育产业将进一步介入国内教育市场 ,对我国教育尤其是高等教育产生全面而深刻的影响。我们必须大力发展地方高等教育 ,加大西部高等教育改革力度 ,缩小东西部差距 ,挖掘教育资源即对外汉语教学 ,努力开辟国际教育市场 ,尽快完善教育法规 。

Against the background of economic globalization and knowledge economy,education has been gradually merged with science and tech nology in different countries.Higher education in the world is developing in the direction of popularization,informationization,marketability and lifetime.With Chinas entry to the WTO,foreign educational industries will enter educational markets in our country,which will greatly influence our education,higher educati on,in particular.We must make great effort to develop local higher education;str engthen educational reform in western regions;narrow gaps between eastern and we stern regions; make full use of educational resources, that is ,teaching Chinese to overseas students;open international education markets;improve educational r egulations and cactively meet challenges of the WTO to higher education in weste rn regions.
