With the theme of Climate Change: Science and Sustainable Development, theInternational Symposium on Climate Change was held from 31 March to 2 April in Beijing. The aim ofthe conference is to facilitate discussion and exchanges on recent advances in the studies onclimate change and the worldwide cooperation within its community, says Qin Dahe, chairman of theChina National Climate Committee (CNCC). The symposium was organized by CNCC and co-sponsored by CASand other governmental and academic organizations. About 600 participants from 52 countries andregions attended the conference, and 300 or so papers were presented at the meeting.
