北宋是中国封建社会史上漕运蓬勃发展的历史时期 ,漕运无论在政治生活还是经济生活中均占据着极其重要的地位 ,其历史价值非同一般 ,主要表现在以下几个方面 :一、收归财权 ,消除隐患 ;二、京城用度 ,大为缓解 ;三、交流物资 ,调剂余缺 ;四、稳定物价 ,控制时局 ;五、城市繁荣 ,由此而兴 ;六、稳定统治 ,支援战争。

In the Chinese feudal society, the Northern Song dynasty is a historical period in which channel transport grew vigorously. Channel transport took a vital part in both political and economic lives. It is of momentous significance in the following respects ------firstly, thanks to this means of transport, economic rights were taken over the nation, that helped to remove hidden perils; second, the tension of expenditures of the capital city was greatly relaxed; thirdly, it promoted the exchange of goods and stabilized commodity prices; fourthly, it stimulated the prosperity of cities and towns; last but not least, it stabilized government and supported warfare.
