GIS(地理信息系统)的用途极为广泛,但是目前各种GIS都需要在计算机上开发并安装相应的软件,故没有统一的用户界面。利用ActiveX把Web技术和GIS技术结合起来,使GIS在浏览器环境中运行,使之具有良好的分布性、友好的界面以及方便的可升级性。

GIS can be used broadly.The current GIS systems have no uniform UIMS owing to the fact that the systems must be developed with the help of the operating system and corresponding application system.ActiveX can combine Web technology with GIS technology and makes it possible for GIS to operate in the Browser.The employment of ActiveX can provide GIS with excellent distributivity,friendly UIMS and ease of upgrading.
