The situation of Europe-American relationship and its development

新世纪之初 ,欧美关系在政治、安全、经济、文化等领域呈现出波动起伏 ,若即若离的特点。然而 ,就欧美关系的发展而言 ,欧美矛盾总体上是一种西方阵营内部的竞争和争吵 ,彼此的合作面依然大于对抗面 ,双方将在大协调、小摩擦的基本框架下继续进行新一轮的关系互动。

At the dawn of the new millennium, the relationship between Europe and the United States is characterized by the combination of compromise and conflict and that of cooperation and rivalry as well in the fields of politics, security, economy and culture, etc.. Nevertheless, as far as the development of this relationship is concerned, the quarrels between Europe and USA, on the whole, can be interpreted as a form of internal competition and contradiction in the Western Camp, their area of cooperation outweighs that of conflict. Two giants will be continuing with a new round of interaction with each other under the framework evidenced by more compromises and fewer frictions.
