天水地名溯源

Tracing to the Source of Placenames in Tianshui

天水地名的源起 ,大致有白龙出湖、湖水不变、石臼恒水、神雨成湖、天河注水、汉水之源等六种说法。据《汉书·地理志》记载 ,天水地名的正式命定 ,是在汉武帝元鼎三年。探究当时的历史资料发现 ,天水这一地名 ,既浓缩着秦始皇“水德之始”的五德政治理论 ,又包含着伏羲地六为水的河图之说 ,还与秦国历史的发展有着不可忽略的内在联系。

The origin of placenames in Tianshui can be roughly classified as six parlances, which are white dragon coming out of lake, steadiness of lake water, steady water in stone mortar, mysterious rain forming lake, heavenly river pouring water and the origin of Hanshui River. According to the Geography Records of Hanshu, the official designation of Tianshui happened in the era of HanWu Emperor. The historical records at that time indicated that the placename of Tianshui connotes not only the political theory of Five Virtues by ShiHuang emperor of Qing Dynasty, but also the parlance of River Map by FuXi emperor. It also relates to the historical development of Qing Dynasty.
