The author analyses the rule of thorowax root in prescription of Fu Qingzhu's Obstetrics and Gynecology,and thinks that Fu Qingzhu used thorowax root and Chinese angelica root and white Peony root to enrich blood and sooth the depressed liver;using it and prepared rehmannia root to nourish kidney and relieve the depressed liver;using it and bighead atractylodes rhizome and Chinese yam to invigorate the spleen and relieve depression of the liver-qi;using it and ginseng to invigorate qi and send up the lucid yang;using it and tangerine peel to relieve the depressed liver and regulate the circulation of qi;using it and cimicifuga rhizome to send up the lucid yang.
