华裔美国文学语境中的“亚裔美国感性”与“男性气质”

“亚裔美国感性”和“男性气质”是长期以来用来度量华裔美国文学的两大核心概念。二者曾被华裔美国文学作家用来颠覆并重塑美国华裔的刻板印象,但在不同时期的作品中又呈现出多样的目标和策略。本文试图从历史语境、主题内容、语言表达等方面探究二者在雷庭招、赵健秀、黄哲伦三位华裔美国男作家作品中的流变,及其在华裔美国文学语境中的存在意义和文学价值。

"Asian American Sensibility "and "masculinity "are two key notions that have long been used to define and identify Chinese Am erican literature. Chinese Am erican writers of different generations have been em ploying them to overturn and reshape the stereotyped im ages of Chinese Am ericans. However, the use of the two key words varies from goals to strategies in different periods. This paper probes into the ways they were presented and evolved in the works of Louis Chu,Frank Chin,and David Henry Huang from the perspective of historical context,them es and contents,as well as languages,so as to explore their existing significance and literary values in the Chinese Am erican context.
