集装箱船的大型化开发及其引发的问题

The development of large containers in the recent years is briefly introduced at first. Analysis indicates that the low cost of ocean shipping is the driving po wer for the development of large containers. It is pointed out that there are th ree problems in the development of large containers to be discussed, the first o ne is that the development of large containers is restricted by the water depth of port and waterways, the second one is that it is not easy to make main engine for super large containers, the final one is that electronic information techno logy has to be developed for settling the feeder service for large amounts of su per large container carried goods. It is concluded that the suitable capacity of container for large container ship be 8,000 TEU.
