In essence,both literary study and literary criticism belong to the academic study of humanities and social science,with an aim to pursue and acquire truth.However,they are different from other studies in the field of humanities and social science as a result of their special object.This paper is an attempt to analyze and answer the following questions:How should we be engaged in literary study and literary criticism?Are there any special requirements and important points that we should be aware of when we do some academic writing?What are the differences for the dissertation formats of different majors of language and literature?
