掺铒铋酸盐玻璃光谱性质的混合形成体效应 被引量:4

Mixed Former Effect on Spectroscopic Properties of Er^3+-doped Bismuth-based Glass for Optical Amplifier

摘要 测得了Er^(3+)离子在铋酸盐玻璃系列(50~75)Bi_2O_3-(20~45)B_2O_3-5Na_2O,70Bi_2O_3-(17~25)B_2O_3-xZrF_4-5Na_2O,70Bi_2O_3-(0~25)B_2O_3-(0~25)SiO_2-5Na_2O中的吸收光谱、荧光光谱及~4I_(13/2)能级荧光寿命。提出并研究了Er^(3+)离子光谱性质的混合形成体效应,结果表明Er^(3+)离子在铋酸盐玻璃中通过混合形成体效应可以获得较大的有效线宽(△λ_(eff)=62~80nm)、较高的受激发射截面(σ_e=0.76~0.84×10^(-20)cm^2)、较宽的荧光半高宽(FWHM=55~80nm)以及较长的荧光寿命(T_m=1.6~4.3ms),说明掺Er^(3+)铋酸盐玻璃是光纤放大器实现宽带和高增益放大较为理想的基质材料。 Er3+-doped bismuth-based glasses with compositions of (50similar to75)Bi2O3-(20similar to45)B2O3-5Na(2)O, 70Bi(2)O(3)-(17similar to25)B2O3-xZrF(4)-5Na(2)O, 70Bi(2)O(3)-(0similar to25)B2O3-(0similar to25)SiO2-5Na(2)O were prepared. The absorption spectra, emission spectra and lifetime Of I-4(13/2) level of Er3+ ion were measured. The mixed former effect was mentioned firstly and its effects on spectroscopic properties of Er3+ ion were investigated. The results indicate that an increase of effective absorption bandwidth, emission cross section, FWHM, and relatively higher lifetime could be obtained in the bismuth-based glasses through mixed former effects. All these data suggest that Er3+ doped bismuth-based glass is a good candidate host material for optical amplifiers to realize broadband and high gain amplification.
