夯实母语基础,服务西部开发——关于单一外语观念的反省与思考

摘要 针对高校外语专业轻视学生文化素养的“单一外语”倾向,并对其弊端和潜在危害进行了揭示。围绕西部外语人在跨文化交际中的实例,阐释了母语基础、传统文化素养在跨文化交际实践中的作用,提出了西部高校外语专业必须转变“单一外语”的传统思维,夯实母语基础,提高中外文化素质,培养跨文化交际人才的思路。 In allusion to the 'Unitary Foreign Language' tendency in the college English major education which belittles the students'cultural quality, we revealed its disadvantage and potential disbenefit. Based on the practical cases of the foreign personnel from West China in the inter-cultural communication, we dissertated the role of mother tongue base and traditional cultural quality in the inter-cultural communication, stated that the college English major education in West China must be transferred from the traditional 'Unitary Foreign Language' concept to the idea of tamping the mother tongue base, improving the Chinese and foreign cultural quality and training inter-cultural communication personnel.
