晚清女性:新教育与旧道德——以杜成淑拒屈函为案例

Women in Late Qing Dynasty: New Education and Old Morality

传统女德教育虽因晚清女学堂的创立而出现缺口,却并未完全退出新教育的课堂,且在相当程度上为新学界所刻意奉守。特别在男女交往、恋爱婚姻一隅,女性的态度尤为持重。本文拟在20世纪初新学界对于"自由结婚"的理解上,以相对开放的南方为背景,进而着重考述、评析1907年发生在相对保守的北京女学界而哄传海内的一件男女学生通信事件,借以探讨新学界在男女交往中自觉的边界设置,以及由此体现出的晚清女性在新教育与旧道德之间依违离合的现实处境。

This article emphasizes on studying and analyzing a famed correspondence affair once occurred in the relatively conservative Beijing women school circles .The main purpose is to discuss the selfconsciously settled boundary in the intercourse between male and female among the new education circles, and to reveal the dilemma between new education and old moral of Late Qing womenfolk.
