The Country of Wine narrates the story in a quasi-detective way,in which Ding Gouer the superfine investigator suffers a failure in his effort to uncover the truth of the astounding rumour that several leading cadres take babies as delicious food.The story exposes the filthy and dark side of the society,especially the official and commercial cirlcles in The Country of Wine City,strongly criticizing the society.The plot design of cooking and eating babies bursts out a strong power of aesthetics,which is beyong the conventional expression and artistic means.Another creative point of this novel is the conbination of the intelligent use of porch-pillar structure and postmodern narrative syle,which fully demonstrates not only the thickness,richness and depth of the content,but also the uniqueness and speciality of the structure.The Country of Wine is an artistic masterpiece in its daring and peculiar imagination,sharp social criticism,concise and unclattered narration and distinct postmodern irony and humor in its aesthetic style.
