本文通过对"种子图书馆"定义、起源、概况以及北美公共图书馆运营"种子图书馆"项目模式的介绍和研究,探讨北美"种子图书馆"项目存在的意义以及对我国公共图书馆拓展服务方式的启示。

Based on the introduction to the definition, origin and basic facts of a seed library and a study of the model of seed library projects operated in American and Canadian public libraries, this paper discusses the significance of these seed library projects and what our public libraries can learn from them to extend our service mode.
