赫伯特·普特南图书馆思想初探

普特南是19世纪末20世纪初美国著名的图书馆专家,在图书馆界供职半个多世纪,作出了卓越的贡献。其图书馆思想主要包括图书馆管理思想、图书馆服务思想以及图书馆合作思想。其思想对美国图书馆学术思想史研究及我国图书馆事业的发展都有一定的意义。

Putnam was one of the prominent library experts in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. He devoted more than half a century to the librarianship, and made great achievement. Library thought of Putnam mainly include the library management thought, the public library service thought, and the library cooperation thought. His thoughts are significant for studying the history of library academic thought in American and for developing the current librarianship in China.
