从神话典籍《山海经》看中学西传的坎坷路

A Winding Road for Chinese Literature Going West——With Mythological Classic Shan Hai Jing as an Example

论述西方学者对神话典籍《山海经》的研究从最初的地理专著角度转变为神话学巨著的视角,态度也经历了从怀疑、鄙视甚至排斥到关注、研究进而大力翻译宣传的转变。传教士和汉学家对《山海经》截然不同的态度体现了中学西传的坎坷。从文化交流的角度解读《山海经》的西传历程,评析《山海经》的西传之路,探析其面临的问题,并为中国神话典籍西传提出一些建议。

Originally regarded as a geographical work,Shan Hai Jing is viewed as a mythological work now by many Western scholars. Some missionaries harbor suspicion,disdain or even rejection toward it while some sinologists think so highly of the book that they do research on it and translate it vigorously. The different attitudes embody the winding road for Chinese literature going West. The article figures out the difficulties from the perspective of cultural exchanges and offers some suggestions on the dissemination of Chinese mythological classics.
