Monk is one of main authors who wrote the so-called Baiyangdian collection of poems during the Great Cultural Revolution and he, together with other poets, such as Bei Dao, becomes the main founder of Today, continuing the creation of poems. Critics are concerned for his poems mainly after the late eighties but few systematic criticism on them. The lyric characteristics presented in Monk's poems always pound and shake the readers greatly and therefore analysing them can deeply understand his unique exploration and present his new poems written from the late Great Cultural Revolution to the initial eighties in a clear, logical way.
