坚持社会主义办学方向 ,是我党对高等教育发展和国家举办的高等学校提出的政治要求。只有坚持社会主义办学方向 ,才能真正贯彻、落实好党的教育方针 ;只有按党的教育方针培养人 ,才能把握社会主义的办学方向。为此 ,才能坚持教育为社会主义现代化服务 ,为人民服务 ,与生产劳动相结合 。

Adhering to running an institution of higher learning by socialist orientation is a political requirement made by the CPC for the development of higher education and the state-run institutions of higher learning. The CPC's educational guiding principle can be implemented and fulfilled only by adhering to running a school by socialist orientation. Socialist orientation for running a school can be maintained only by following the CPC's educational guiding principle to nurture students. Hence, it is vital to adhere to the principles that education serves socialist modemization as well as people, and is combined with production and work, so as to nurture socialist builders and successors developed in al all-round way-morally,intellectually and physically.
