An introduction to the standard interfaces, policies and mechanisms defined by CORBA audio/video stream specification is presented and a prototype developed by Southeast University which conforms to that specification is described. This prototype integrates IntServ/RSVP with Mbone tools (VIC, RAT), and it supports point-to-point and multicast real-time multimedia applications. Finally, an application of the prototype in the Remote Education System is introduced. Based on this application, the performance of the prototype was tested. The results show that it can meet the stringent QoS requirements of distributed real-time multimedia applications.
