With reference to the special features of Alstom type 330MW sets, the paper analyses the factors that causes high bearing temperature, the development of excessive vibration as well as ways of dealing with the rubbing between stationary and rotating parts. This experience may be, to a certain extent, useful for investigating and solving similar problems appearing in sets of the same type.
