The authors believe that after the September 11 Events, Australia and ASEANcountries once conducted anti-terror cooperation smoothly. But after the Bali explosion event and the 'preemptive' strategy stated by Australian Prime Minister John Howard, the relationship between ASEAN and Australia fell into stagnation.Undoubtedly,the terrorism in Southeast Asia caused the relationship between ASEAN and Australia confronting with unavoidable challenges.
