Textual Criticisms on Short Stories of the Tang Dynasty

《聂隐娘》和《虬髯客传》皆是唐传奇中脍炙人口的佳作,但是关于《聂隐娘》的作者以及《虬髯客传》的本事的考证均存在若干值得商榷的地方。文章在详细分析考证的基础上,对学界关于《聂隐娘》的作者的几种论断作了否定,指出《聂隐娘》的作者实另有其人。同时还指出《虬髯客传》应是附会隋朝人李百药的事迹而作,而不是李靖。

Secret Sister Nie and Biography of Swordsman with Curly Beard were all masterpieces of universally appreciated in the short stories of the Tang dynasty. However, somewhere with regard to the writer of the former and the source material of the latter remained to be deliberated. Based on analysis and textual criticism in detail, the author denies several inferences made by academic circles with regard to the writer of the former and points out that its writer was another one in fact. The author also points out that the latter may be written by drawing a farfetched analogy to the deeds of Li Baiyao in the Sui dymasty instead of the deeds of Li Jing.
