慧琳《一切经音义》中的假借

Jiajie"假借" in Hui Lin's the sound and meaning of the Tripitaka

唐释慧琳《一切经音义》中有一些明确注明“假借”的语言材料。慧琳所谓假借,包括三个方面的内容:(一)文字学意义上的假借,所谓“本无其字,依声托事”;(二)训诂学意义上的假借,所谓“本有其字,依声托事”;(三)词汇学意义上的假借,所谓词义引申。这或许亦是许氏“假借”的题中之义。

There are some language materials in the sound and meaning of the Tripitaka compiled by Hui Lin. They are marked Jiajie definitely. In Hui Lin' s consideration, Jiajie is defined as follows: (1) Jiajie is a concept of philology. It means a sense is expressed by lending a character that expresses originally other sense. (2) Jiajie is a concept of exegetics. It means a sense is expressed by not A character but B character, only because the sounds of the two characters are alike. (3) Jiajie is a concept of lexicology. It means the sense expressed by a character which is extended from the character's original meaning. They may be the inherent meaning of Jiajie that Xu Shen defines.
