On the basis of current information resource of fossil power plant the energy loss differential analysis system was developed in B/S mode while using the modular design concept and advanced computer technology. The relative advantages of ActiveX control tool in drawing of curves were expatiated. Problems of design, usage, data transferring and network security of ActiveX control tool were discussed. The site application shows that energy loss differential analysis system adopting ActiveX can effectively improve the operating skill of the operators and the operation management of the whole plant.
