The changes of zin (ZN), copper (Cu) metabolism and activities of serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were studied in rats after an exhaustive swimming and 4 weeks of endurance swimming training. The results showed: 1. An exhaustive swimming induced the redistribution of Zn and Cu in the body, that is the Zn and Cu transferred by blood transportation from the skeletal muscles to the liver and the heart. 2. The deposited Zn in the body of the rats increased after four weeks of endurance swimming training without the shortage of Zn. But the deposited Cu in the body of the rats decreased, which is possible to induce the shortage of Cu. 3. The activities of the serum alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase of the rats increased after an exhaustive swimming, but there was no remarkable correlativity between the increase of those enzyme activities and the rise of the serum Zn concentration. 4. The serum lactate dehydrogenase activity increased at rest after four weeks of endurance swimming training, showing that the longterm endurance training is possible to induce the rise of some serum enzyme activities selectively.
