Application of the horizontal smooth blasting of pneumatic drill to the excavation of protective layer of foundation surface of Permanent Ship Lock in Three Gorges Project

三峡永久船闸水平建基面保护层开挖面积大,强度高,工期紧。为使保护层开挖顺利进行,确保基岩面质量满足设计及现行施工技术规范要求,结合船闸工程地质条件,作了一系列保护层开挖爆破对比试验,选取了适合永久船闸开挖特点的手风钻水平光面爆破开挖方法,保证了质量和进度,取得了预期的效果。

The protection layer of the horizontal foundation surface of permanent ship lock for the Three Gorges Project is large in excavation area, high in excavation strength and short in construction period. In order to carry out the excavation of the protection layer smoothly and to ensure the quality of foundation rock to meet the requirements of existing construction standards, we combined with the engineering geological conditions of the ship lock and made a series of blasting tests on the excavation of protection layer. Then a method of excavating protection layer, horizontal smooth blasting of pneumatic drill, is selected, which ensures the quality and progress of the excavation and gained expected results.
