The hydraulic system design for a multi-layer press unit for particleboard(PB) and medium density fiberboard(MDF) was discussed in this article. The main parameters of the unit, such as the diameters of the hydro-cylinders and the total flux of the pumps, were deduced and calculated. The reasons for choosing the proper valves to meet the system demand were also explained. In the end, an example of hydraulic system design for a multi-layer press unit was offered.
