文化精神:事实还是价值——关于中国传统文化基本精神研究的困境与出路

Cultural spirit : facts or values——On the predicament and outlet in the research of the basic spirit of the traditional Chinese culture

文化精神是指文化的内在抽象结构,是思想观念的终极依据。它是事实描述,而不是价值预设。长期以来,一方面由于对文化精神本身没有进行严格的分析,另一方面由于对文化概念的外延界定不清,研究范围仅仅局限于思想家的经典著作,没有注意到广阔的现实社会生活本身,因而近年关于中国传统文化基本精神的讨论,实际上是在讨论中国古代精英文化的价值取向,或经典著作的文本精神。

Cultural spirit refers to the inner and abstract structure of cultures. It is the ultimate basis of ideas. It's factual description instead of value supposition. Regardless of the extensive social life itself, partly because of lack of strict analysis of cultural spirit and partly because of the vaguedetermination of culture, the research is strictly limited to thinkers' classical works. Therefore, the discussion of the basic spirit of traditional Chinese cultrure in recent years is focused on either value orientation of classical Chinese culture or the version spirit of classical works.
