以更名、迎评为契机,办好云南民族大学——在云南民族大学发展战略研讨会上的讲话

Speech at the Development-Strategy Forum for Yunnan Univer sity for Nationalities

经过52年的团结奋斗,云南民族大学逐步形成了以本科为主,研究生、专科、预科、成人教育及国外留学生并存的多层次教学体系,为发展打下了坚实的基础。在更名为云南民族大学之际,我们要以迎评工作为契机,抓住机遇,迎接挑战,按"两手抓"的基本思路,在认真思考中长期发展规划的同时,扎实做好近几年的各项工作,争取多方面的支持,努力改善办学条件,把云南民族大学的建设推向新阶段。

Through fifty-year's concerted efforts, Yunnan In stitute for Nationalities has developed into Yunnan University for Nationalities which mainly offers four-year college programs plus some programs for post-grad uates, junior-college, pre-college, adult and overseas students. This is the fou ndation for its further development. With the renaming of this university and th e coming evaluation by the Ministry of Education, we should catch the opportunit y, welcome the challenges and stick to the Party's policies. While working out t he medium-range and long-term plans, we should also try our best to do a good jo b in these years, get support from others and improve the existing conditions in order to help it develop to a new stage.
