For a long time U.S. economic anthropologists h av e not taken China studies as their focus of attention. Because Chinese scholars are unfamiliar with economic anthropology, a new discipline emerging on the othe r side of the Pacific, there have been few published papers on it. The author, f or the first time, gives a comprehensive analysis of this 'rare' academic case and its related ideas, and offers a preliminary study of the Chinesenization of economic anthropology.
