The war in Iraq added more power resources to the U.S.,which in turn will have a great impact on the future international order.First of all,the author believes that America's power to control the world will be strengthened in the future due to its increased control over raw materials,capital,and the market,as well as its competitive advantage in high tech products after the end of the war.Second,by analyzing the direct political consequences of the war, such as the'free riding'effect brought about by the increase in prestige due to the U.S.victory,the absence of an international balance of power,and revisions in international rules,the author thinks that the U.S.victory over Iraq will be conducive to promoting the world order advocated by the U.S.at the end of the Gulf War in 1991.
