空间隐喻是人类认知的一种重要手段。在介词英语中 ,空间隐喻应用之广泛 ,表达之形象更为突出。在时间、范围、状态、数量、社会地位几个抽象概念中 ,空间隐喻以其系统性、广泛性、形象性充分表现了人类语言发展中隐喻思维及认知过程。

Spatialization metaphor is one of the chief means of congnition for mankind.In English,it is a vivid image schema,which is used at a higher frequency.This paper examines human's metaphorical thinking and congnitive process from spatial concept to some abstract concepts--time,scope,state,quantity and social status.
