炼金术士们关于矿石和矿床成因的思想,是科学革命前期矿床成因观念的主要部分,并对17,18世纪的矿床成因理论研究产生了很大的影响。本文详细研究了中西炼金术士们的天体成矿作用思想、地球中心火成矿思想、地下金树成矿模式、金属种子成矿思想、由贱金属生长成贵金属的成矿思想的产生、历史演化、主要内容和思想基础及其对后期矿床成因理论思想产生的影响,并剖析了炼金术士们成矿思想产生的观察和嬗变实验基础。

Alchemises' ideas on the genesis of ore and minerals were the mam constituent of knowledge of mineral deposits before evolution of mineral deposits in the 17th and 18th centuries. Such ideas as suggested by Chinese and Western alchemists: celestial influance, fire at the centre of the Earth, the golden tree, the 'seed of metal', 'metaljing' of the baser metals into gold, are introduced in this paper. Also discussed here are the historical development and evolution, the major contents and grounds for thought, as well as their influance on later theories and research into mineral deposies. The basis of observation and experi- ment on which alchemists depend to suggest the:r ideas is analyzed here too.
