摘要
媒介的'物质性'是我们思考当下数字生活、考察媒体世界、剖析文化场域不可或缺的重要维度,却长期成为传播研究的盲点。本文聚焦于当前正在发生的'物质性转向',梳理各种相关的理论源流和思想派别,在中国语境下对媒介物质性范畴做出界定,并讨论它的本体论和方法论走向。本文认为,媒介物质性,泛指一切涉及'物'与'物质'的媒介构成、媒介要素、媒介过程和媒介实践,而'媒介'本身所具有的物性也由此重新显现。
Media materiality has long been a blind spot in communication studies while it is an inevitable dimension to examine the media world and to analyze the cultural domain.This article focuses on the emerging materiality turn,tracing back to the related theories,defining the categories of media materiality in Chinese context,and discussing its ontological and methodological trends.We consider that media materiality refers to media formation,media elements,media process and media practices concerning things and materials,therefore the materiality within media reemerges.
