The massive input of Sinology does provide new historical theories, methods, perspectives, ideas and narrative techniques and broaden the horizons of Chinese scholars while Sinology itself has a variety of problems, such as the brand of Western Centrism, the hidden political motivation of deconstructing China’s nation-state construction and so on, which are the important elements of Sinology and are often visible but not perceptible, perceived but not introduced. This paper analyzes the spatial structure of the paradigm of Sinology centered on the best-selling History of Imperial China, including the abuse of the concept of " empire",the spatial politics of internal and external opposition, and the binary narratives of the Han nationality and other ethnic groups. Finally, the thesis discusses how to define " China" in history from space in the face of the challenge of sinology.
