Kroncke, The Futility of Law and Development:China and the Dangers of Exporting American Law, New York:Oxford University Press,2016, 376pp.二百年前,美国建国者在思考如何构建新共和国的时候,不仅将目光投向了欧洲,还投向了太平洋一侧古老的中国。尤其是富兰克林和杰斐逊,他们对中国的法律与文官制度推崇有加,把中国法视为一种智识资源。然而,到19世纪中后期,美国精英特别是法律人对中国法的态度发生了逆转。'落后''野蛮'的中国法不再是美国学习参照的对象.
