This paper proves, under novel concepts, the numbers of sample plots and flights needed to evaluate the coverage of air surveillance radar, and discusses some special problems encountered in the evaluation flight test of AEW surveillance radar's coverage, including flight test area selection, flight path design and target aircraft RCS measurement.
