浅谈跨文化交际中翻译的可译性

On Translatability in the Across-Cultural Communication

翻译是两种语言的交际活动,同时不可避免也是两种文化的的交际活动。文化差异固然存在,翻译作为交流的手段,无论采用何种翻译手法均能达到交流的目的。在以交流为目的的翻译中,没有绝对的不可译性。一切不可译性在翻译过程中事实上只是某种程序上的文化缺失。

Translation is a communication experience between two languages, and inevitably, between two cultures. Though there exists cultural difference, there is no real obstacle that can prevent translation from going ahead in terms of communication. In this sense, absolute non-translatability seems to take no place. The view based on non-translatability is an outcome of the lack of appropriate understanding of culture, target or source, to some extent.
