Innovation and Breakthrough:An Interpretation of Meier's New Architecture

通过对迈耶 2 0世纪 90年代末期一些代表作品的解读 ,着重分析其设计理念发展变化的社会背景 ,以及迈耶如何运用设计手段和技术对环境进行回应 ,展示迈耶充满理性的设计思想和设计手法 .

Through interpreting a series of Meier's representative works of the 1990's, this paper analyzes the social background, against which changes in Meier's designing concept have taken place. It also discusses how Meirer has responded to the enviromental changes by malling use of varions design methods and technologies. Meier's rational design concept and methods are also fully investigated. It is hoped that the paper will give Chinese architects some insight.
