Ad hoc network as a multi-hop mobile self-organized network requires corresponding architect- ures to support routing, management and other network functions. In this paper, some distinct character- istics of Ad hoc networks are introduced firstly. Then architectures of Ad hoc network are analyzed detailedly. In addition, a clustering algorithm with good performance is introduced and cluster maintenance schemes as well as code assignment are discussed.
