摘要
以Kaplan理论为基础的传统对比修辞学认为,语言与写作是一种文化现象,而且受文化影响的思维与交际模式对于二语写作有干扰作用.传统的对比修辞研究注重写作成果的分析,过于强调二语写作的修辞准则.90年代以来,对比修辞研究的兴趣与重点都有了更新,开始注重写作过程的研究,并将认知因素与社会文化因素纳入二语写作研究框架中.本文拟在新的对比修辞理论框架下,从文化的视角探讨中国学生在英语写作中的修辞风格.
The traditional views of Contrastive Rhetoric (CR) represented by Kaplan claims that language and writing are a cultural phenomenon, and that the thought and communication patterns influenced by culture will interfere with writing in the second language. The earlier contrastive rhetorical studies tended to focus on the analysis of written products and laid too much emphasis on the rhetorical conventions of second language writing. Since 1990's, both the research interest and focus of CR have been renewed, having shifted to the study of writing process and taken cognitive factors and sociocultural factors into consideration. The goal of this paper is to pursue the relationship between culture and discourse by proving a cultural perspective on Chinese ESL students' writing dilemma and rhetorical styles in English writing, as well as offering some personal views on the teaching of English writing in ESL or EFL setting.
