我国高校英语专业文学课通常的"史""读"模式已不符合新时代的要求,应开设"文学概论"以适应新时期素质教育和人才培养的需要.该课程的主要内容可以是:英语文学的基本性质、功能、特征和要素等;主要文学样式的特征、要素、结构与表现手法等;文学批评的基本观念、方法和技巧等.
