Guasha, a traditional treatment which has existed for thousands of years in China, became an evidence of maltreating the child. The consequent case is the result of differences and clash between the Chinese culture and the Western one. This essay attempts to discuss the phenomenon and the origin of the cultural differences between the Chinese and Western cultures, in order to achieve a more successful crosscultural communication.
