On December 6, 2002, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) announced in Beiijng the founding of two subsidiaries - CNPC Orient Geophysical Co Ltd and CNPC Logging Co Ltd. This is an important step CNPC has taken to highlight the main business and boost the core competitiveness to become a large-scale multinational company, according to the Chinese petroleum community.
