Chinese feelings in poems and Songs of Yeh Chia-ying

加拿大籍华人叶嘉莹是中国古典文学专家,也是一位优秀的女诗人。她的古典诗词创作实际上是一种身份的证明,“根”意识的体现。本文从“飘泊之苦”、“故国之思”、“报国之情”三方面解读叶嘉莹诗词中浓厚的“中国情结”,这种情结与她深厚的古典文学的修养一脉相承。叶的诗词是她在异域文化中的心声,也代表了大多数海外赤子的心声,既是她个人人生和心灵的写照,也是海外华侨人生飘泊和心灵的反映。

Yeh Chia-ying expresses her feelings by writting Chinese classical poems and songs abroad. It is, in fact, a certification of identity and a reflection of 'root' consciousness. The paper studies the 'Chinese feelings' through three respects: 'hardships of roving' , 'missing of motherland' , 'emotion of serving the motherland' . In my opinion, Yeh Chia-ying s 'Chinese feelings' can be traced to the same origin with her proficiency in classical literature. These works are not only the portrayal of Yeh Chia-ying s life and spirit, but the depiction of the story of overseas Chinese.
